(1.4 MA 170 TCT update 2015) I am satisfied with these tires, but I was still wondering to fit tires with the following dimensions on the same rims: 205 / 50R17. The outline is only a little bit bigger.
215/60-R17 tires are 0.3 inches (7.6 mm) larger in diameter than 225/50-R18 tires and the speedometer difference is 1.1%.
225/40-R18 tires are 0.38 inches (9.6 mm) smaller in diameter than 215/50-R17 tires and the speedometer difference is 1.5%.

Apr 20, 2017 · You can most certainly change down to the 215/55R17 tires AND wheels. Any 17 inch wheels listed for the Base, SE, GLS, etc will fit fine. The ride and handling will be different. It will ride a bit smoother as you are increasing the sidewall aspect ratio - 55 vs 45%. The will also be narrower - 215mm vs 225 mm.
215/70-R17 tires are 1.22 inches (31 mm) larger in diameter than 225/60-R17 tires and the speedometer difference is 4.2%.
215/50-R17 tires are 0.85 inches (21.5 mm) smaller in diameter than 215/55-R17 tires and the speedometer difference is 3.2%.

No rubbing issues and I like how they fill up the wheelwells real nice. The ride quality is really smooth and the speedo is dead on too. 05 Forester XTi Premium M/T (bobbytuned VF39) (his) 18 Honda
